Yes. The name is somewhat unorthodox. To say the very least!
We got Mao Tse Tung when he was a kitten from a fervent Communist, who was doing rather well in the Capitalist system as a General Practitioner!
Mao was a very beautiful fluffy tabby cat with striking green eyes. Very friendly, sociable and loving.
Very sadly, Mao choked on a fur ball, and died. I can still remember to this day his anguished cries as he struggled to breath. It was fairly horrific, and my first face to face encounter with death.
So very sad. Remember being in tears for months afterwards, especially witnessing that as a child, and even then, an avid Animal Lover.
I know Mao is at Peace now and Happy at Rainbow's Bridge, playing with the rest of his Family and Friends.
Bless you, Mao. You were such a beautiful Cat, and died so young, in such sorrowful circumstances.
